THE LONG ROOM AT TRINITY COLLEGE
Take a 35 minute tour of Trinity college and go to the stunningly beautiful grand library. It's best feature is "The Long Room," which houses millions of old literature. The tall arched ceiling makes for an epic Instagram picture. Historically, this is also where the Book of Kells can be seen (ancient illustrations dating back to 800 AD). An adult ticket is €14, which you can purchase at the front gate. The tour runs all day during summer months.

THE BATHS €€€
An all-glass restaurant with seafood and rotisserie chicken. Gorgeous terrace views overlooking the newly renovated Clontarf baths. You can also see Clontarf bay and Dublin's skyline further out. Most Insta users will revel in the fact that the seats are made of reclaimed bathtubs. They also sometimes open the baths area, so you can go for a dip after. It's a bit of a trek from Portobello, but you could still make a trip of it and visit the nearby Bull Island. Otherwise, do a lunch at The Baths before heading onto Howth for sightseeing and dinner later.
